Two months ago I enrolled as a student at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) to become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. The weeks have gone by quickly and I have been learning so much about nutrition, diets, agriculture, soil, the importance of having meaningful relationships, getting a good night’s sleep, doing exercise and so much more.
My biggest takeaway, so far, is the concept of bio-individuality. It explains why one diet may work for one person but not for someone else. Bio-individuality simply means “You are unique.”
It’s not limited to the food you eat. You can see your uniqueness in the clothes you wear, the career you choose and how you fill your free time. It’s your job to figure out just how unique you are. Discovering your bio-individuality takes time and constant effort. It can also change over time. It requires you to look inwards and listen to what your body wants and needs.
Don’t try to be like anyone else, or fit a mould built for someone else. Accept that you are different. There is no one else like you. You are unique!
